Mt Morgan Museum Acknowledges Gaangalu Traditional Owners

THE GAANGALU ARE FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS OF

MT MORGAN AND DISTRICT

 

What a great day, the 26 June 2014, its the day the Mt Morgan Museum acknowledged the Gaangalu  Traditional Owners of Mt Morgan and districts.

 The Gaangalu Nation People have Commonwealth recognition through a  with the National Native TItle Tribunal.

On a beautiful winter morning descendants of William Toby 1st presented the Mt Morgan Museum with several exhibits that provide information to the public about the Gaangalu People.

They include a map of the the Gaangalu Nation People traditonal country as registered with the National Native TItle Tribunal.

There is also a photo of William Toby 2nd and his four sons; Edward (Syd), Robert Henry, Gordon, William 3rd. all well known Gaangalu Traditional Owners of Mt Morgan and the surrounding districts.
